There are multiple ways to get a local group going. You can see if your immediate friends are into D&D and would be interested in a game and see if you or one of your friends wants to be Dungeon Master (DM). If you lack the friends that are wanting to play Dungeons and Dragons then fear not! The next stop is just searching google for local Tabletop Board Game Shops or using the D&D Adventure’s League game finder. Many of them have a calendar for events, for instance, a game shop near me has a Wednesday game of “D&D encounters – Beginner D&D”. Call them up or stop by and find out if they have a spot open for you to join. If that also brings you no results then head on over to the meetup app and search for D&D groups. Many of the ones I have seen are a single meetup with many DMs hosting games. Generally a community of Dungeons and Dragon players.

You can also use the D&D Adventure’s league site to locate an event. Adventure League is a great way if you don’t have a lot of time to commit but want to just sit in and jump in a game to get that gaming itch taken care of but don’t have the ability to commit to a year-long group.
