Lore Monday…Wait…
What!? A Lore post on a Monday night? What about Mini Monday!? It might be something you are saying if you are a regular to my content. But worry not I have not stopped my quest for creating the best painted miniature techniques. I have only swapped Mini and Lore post for this week since my newest technique that I am experimenting with is taking longer than I was expecting. So stay tuned!
A Consumed One
In the Time of Darkness campaign, as the darkness starts to show itself, it has started to consume those that come in contact with it. In this case, a Consumed Human. You could say any other race but since humans are all that is left it makes sense in this context.
These terrible beings were once upon a time just a normal citizen, a normal guard on patrol, a mother in a village. But not anymore, they have been consumed by the darkness and seek only to spread it. They hunger only to share their misery and almost seem deaf to your words.
Most of them look like any other human in the land except that their eyes are solid black and they have what looks like black veins wrapping around their body. Being too close to one of these gives those around it a sense of hopelessness, a sense of loss and a sense of fear.
When it tries to either consume or darken another person the darkness on their body starts to envelop those they have grappled. Those feelings that you initially felt when near these entities are fully realized and you must break free or start to succumb to it.
The consumed never stop, they don’t tire, and they only consume other beings with their darkness. They do bleed, however, it is similar to a parasite in which the darkness latches on to a living being and is dependent on them to be alive and the darkness gives necrotic sustenance that keeps the body it dwells in alive.
